Sample Night Live

Take a quick glance at the theater listings in various publications, and you will see that it's quite impossible to take in every production around town, though some hard-core Fringe fanatics may try. Some of us simply aren't that ambitious. So the first Wednesday of every month at Bryant-Lake Bowl provides a sampling from theater and performance troupes around town. A little rough around the edges, many performances are still works in progress, or sneak previews of things to come. Sample Night Live breaks down into two acts: The first one is G-rated and kid-friendly, featuring traditional dance by Native Pride Dancers, female-founded and -centric Theatre Unbound, and senior-friendly Prime Time Players, to name a few. The second, unrated act starts at 8:15 p.m. and includes Stilettos and Straps Cabaret, rockers Capitol Sons, and a preview of FTF Works' Herocycle, a retelling of the life of Evel Knievel through opera, aerialists, and theater.
