Daniel Tosh

Little of what comedian Daniel Tosh talks about onstage has any basis in truth, and he'll be the first to tell you that. "I just make stuff up," he confesses. "If I can get to a punch line, good. My goal is simple: I'm not trying to do anything but make the audience laugh." The Florida native found his way into standup shortly before leaving the University of Central Florida. "I was like, 'Let's see if there's anything else I can do besides getting a job.'" He adds, "I have wasted almost all of my education. But my diploma looks wonderful in a box." Be that as it may, his major has come in handy from time to time. "I have a degree in marketing, which comes into play when I'm trying to sell my soul." Tosh has no idea what kind of career he would have wound up in if not comedy. "I'm not too motivated. I can't imagine that I would be successful. Maybe I would have been a teacher. That seems to be a standard answer in show business. But I don't care about the youth of America, so that wouldn't have worked either. I'd walk dogs for a living." He's quick to note, "I'm sure that doesn't pay well, though."
