It's no coincidence that the words one would use to describe hockey could also be applied to the material of comedian Ian Bagg. "Basically, my show is controlled chaos. I like to have a conversation with the audience, so you don't know where the show's going to end up. I have prepared material but that's basically markers; I have to hit certain points." Always a fan of comedy, the Terrace, British Columbia, native decided early on that he probably wouldn't make a living at his other passion. "I'm a huge hockey fan," he confesses. "I really wanted to be a pro hockey player. I went to a couple of camps and got beaten up quite brutally, and said, 'Nope, I wanna be a comedian.'" Onstage Bagg talks about current events, but not necessarily the big stories. "A lot of my stuff is current events that I let my cartoon mind go wild with, anything that teases people. I think comedy should be like a Christmas dinner: Have fun and tease each other. But I'm not saying my show's just for Christians!"
