A Christmas Carol

By Quinton Skinner

Lest we take it for granted, here's your last chance this year to catch the Guthrie's annual Scrooge-fest; late word was that tickets were scarce, but depending on weather-based cancellations you might be able to squeeze yourself into this show that's been running for a staggering 32 years. Raye Birk stars as the coal-hoarding Ebenezer for the third straight year (in all, approximately 750 actors have trod the two Guthrie stages over the years tackling Dickens's tale). This Christmas Carol, for all its familiarity, remains a signature work of the great American regional theater sitting in our backyard.
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: Nov. 23. Continues through Dec. 29, 2007
