Musab (CD-Release)

By Peter S. Scholtes

Published on September 19, 2007

Having left south Minneapolis for Las Vegas, and Rhymesayers for Oakland's Hiero Imperium, Musab keeps the home fires burning with this CD-release-cum-birthday party celebrating Slicks Box, the singularly congenial pimp's first solo outing since fleeing cold weather. Sampling Toto's "Hold the Line" to surprisingly cool effect on "Baaang," and bantering over some Sensaround funk on "Hat and Shoes," 'Sab (a.k.a. Minnesota Slicks) is at his relaxed, most workaday autobiographical best. He premieres videos for both singles tonight, with cake and food served.
