Somewhere in Between

By Quinton Skinner

Ronny Almog is a transgendered playwright who draws upon his own experience in Somewhere in Between, which features a central character distressed by the radical contrast between her feminine exterior and her own self-conception. Currently on tour from Tel Aviv, the show is a multimedia take on sex, politics, societal expectations, and, most of all, gender. Almog collated the show's contents over a long period of time, incorporating poems, dramatic vignettes, and monologues to express his experiences from childhood to the present day. Amid this deep dive into the self and how it can be at odds with the individual exterior there promises to be a good deal of heart and no lack of humor.
Thu., Sept. 6, 7 p.m.
